On the occasion of the closing of the Eisfeld II installation, Olaf Nicolai returns to Palazzo Diedo for a special event. In conversation with director Mario Codognato, the artist will reflect on the history of the installation, from its first presentation in 2001 at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich to its current re-instalment in Venice. Set within the historic eighteenth-century palace, Eisfeld explores the role of cultural institutions. The tension between the exhibition space and the ice rink serves as a powerful conceptual framework, revealing key themes in Nicolai’s practice and opening up a wider dialogue around his work and artistic vision.
During the last weekend of the Eisfeld II installation at Palazzo Diedo, the Black Box will host the screening of "7 postcards for Innsbruck" by Olaf Nicolai. Seven short films created as part of the eponymous exhibition at Taxispalais Innsbruck in 2016.
